Guided Summer Solstice Meditation and Journal Reflection

Welcome to this meditation and reflection practice to honor the summer solstice.

Find a comfortable position. Settle in. Find stillness.

Close your eyes or find a soft gaze.

Place one hand on your belly, one hand on your heart. Take 3 deep breaths, filling your lungs fully on the inhales and then emptying them entirely on the exhales.

Release your hands and sit in stillness except the motion of your breathing, spine is tall, and the crown of your head is radiating upward toward the powerful sun.

Summer brings heat, energy, and passion to us. It is a time to wake up from a slumber, to stretch yourself physically and spiritually, to take up more SPACE, and to dream.

We are bathing in the energy of the sun right now. We are close to the sun and have more connection to its intensity.

Imagine the sun pouring its warmth and energy over you like a molten liquid. The warmth and the light touching the top of your head, your face, your neck, your throat. Feel it dripping down your shoulders and arms and off the edge of your fingertips. The warm liquid flows down your chest to your belly, to your pelvis, to your legs, and then pools at the soles of your feet.

You are completely covered, every inch of your skin and your body, by the glowing, heated energy of the sun. It is within you, too. Feel its abundance. There is so much fire and energy available here to support you and all that you want to do.

Let this sun energy find a permanent home in you, a source somewhere in your being where you can find it always to nurture it and call on it when you are stepping forward into the light and into your bravest self.

It lives in you, and is there to give you strength all season.

Bring your hands to your heart. Breathe in the the glow, the heat, the light, the energy of the sun. Exhale and clear out even more space for it. Take three more breaths.

Lift your chin toward the sky, eyes can open if they aren’t already, and acknowledge the light within the sun that is also within you. Now take a gentle bow, eyes toward the earth to close this practice, appreciating with wonder and gratitude all this season will hold for you.
